About this Chapter
Welcome to the homepage of the Swiss Chapter of the IEEE Engineering in
Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBS). We organize talks, excursions,
and other networking opportunities related to biomedical engineering. We
also aim at increasing awareness of
ethical
issues and offers a website and a newsletter. We have recently
received the
2009 EMBS Best New Chapter
Award. The
chapter has about 122
members and is associated with the
IEEE Switzerland Section,
which has about 2'630 members.

About EMBS
The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world's
largest international society of biomedical engineers. Its 8'200 members support scientific, technological and
educational activities as they apply to the concepts and methods of the
physical and engineering sciences in biology and medicine. Key areas of
interest include bioinformatics, biotechnology, clinical engineering,
