Early Career Researcher Social

Philharmonic Dining Rooms

Early Career Researchers are invited to join us for an informal social evening at the historic Philharmonic Dining Rooms in Liverpool on the day before BioMedEng2026 begins. It will be a great opportunity to meet fellow ECRs, make new connections, and start the conference with some relaxed conversation in one of the city’s most iconic venues.

Guests can enjoy drinks and food at their own expense, with no formal ticket or booking required. Just come along and join us for a casual evening with colleagues and peers ahead of the main conference programme.

Social Walk/Run

We will hold a social walk and run (2 groups - walking group and running group) covering around 5 km of Liverpool on the morning of Friday 4th September 2026 covering some key landmarks in central Liverpool, approximately 5 km. We will be leaving from The Spine Building. The walk will take you to some famous landmarks. These include our very own Victoria Gallery and Museum – the building that defined the term “Red Brick University”. Next, we will contrast two very different cathedrals (with the amazing Philharmonic in-between) before continuing to Liverpool’s Chinatown – the first in Europe. Before heading back, we will pass by the famous bombed out church (St Luke’s) and (time allowing) shopping areas old and new.
