Aortic Diseases

We are pleased to announce that we will have a themed session on aortic diseases biomechanics at BioMedEng26 sponsored by The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust chaired by Dr Riaz Akhtar.

Call for Abstracts

This themed session highlights the latest advances in aortic biomechanics that can advance the treatment, diagnosis and understanding of devastating conditions such as aortic dissections and aneurysms. Contributions are welcomed from interdisciplinary fields including engineering, materials science, and clinical research. Computational, imaging and experimental work is eligible for this session.

The session will comprise a series of six short oral presentations from researchers in biomaterials for health. Early-career researchers are encouraged to apply.
 

Funding Support

The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust will cover part of the conference registration fee for authors whose abstracts are selected for oral presentation in this session. Authors must be members of the BioMedEng Association and meet the early bird registration deadline.
 

How to Submit

Abstract submission instructions, deadlines, and templates are available on the BioMedEng 2026 conference website. Authors must select "Cardiovascular Biomechanics" as the abstract theme when submitting to be considered for the session.

Abstract Deadline is 14th May 2026.
